Alumni Brotherhood 212: Uighur Conflict Violates Human Rights

Kolom Nasional. The masses of Muslims from the 212 Alumni Brotherhood voiced their aspirations in front of the Chinese Embassy in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Friday, December 21, 2018. But they were disappointed after knowing the Embassy was on holiday.

They came to express their concerns about the conflict that occurred in Uighur Muslims. Massa wanted to ask for an explanation from the Chinese Embassy.

"That is why we will ask for clarity and information from the Chinese ambassador in Indonesia," said General Chairman of the GNPF Ulama, Yusuf Muhammad Martak, Jakarta, Friday, December 21, 2018

They demanded an end to discrimination against ethnic Uighurs. Demonstrators say the discrimination has violated human rights.

"Because of that, it has violated human rights very much. Because it is human beings, after all, they cannot be persecuted, tortured like that, even killed with things of a nature that are sadistic," Yusuf said.

Yusuf asked the Embassy to be open and willing to accept, and want to explain to the demonstrators' representatives. The Chinese government said it could not deny the conflict.
